Does Project Spark Interest You? Here’s An Hour Of the Stuff
The way I see it, you have two options. Watch the new episode of Breaking Bad or watch this video of Project Spark, the Xbox One exclusive (which is also coming to PC) that’s all about creating and shaping the world around you. If you’re a bit odd you might do both simultaneously and if you really have enough time you could watch both successively. In that final case I would like to extend my middle finger in your general direction.
It sparked (see what I did there?) our interest at E3 and is perhaps one of the most unique games to be launching us into what next-gen is capable of. The dynamism and physics behind the game are impressive enough but it’s unique aesthetic and flair are reminiscent of LittleBigPlanet and I suspect that Project Spark will be exponentially more innovative and creatively charged.

Originally a live stream hosted by Project Spark creators Team Dakota, the video demonstrates many aspects of game creation including Kinect Performance Capture, event scripting and environment building. Announced at Gamescom, Kinect Performance Capture will let players use Kinect to capture facial animations, body motion, voice and sound to create custom character animations, dialogue and cinematic cut scenes.
There is currently an open beta for the PC version whilst the Xbox One version will go into beta around January next year.
