Download The Battlefield 4 Beta Early…On PC
I must admit, I’m not as excited for the Battlefield 4 beta as I was for when DICE released Battlefield 3’s multiplayer offering a little early. It’s probably due to the fact that while I’m not drowning in varsity work, I’m playing Grand Theft Auto V, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who has completely missed the fact that the open beat for Battlefield 4 starts as early as next week. Yeah, just a few more days now. However, if you happen to be a PC player, you can start downloading the beta in just a few hours.
September 29th to be exact. No love for Xbox 360 and PS3 players though. So sorry.

DICE confirmed this yesterday, stating that PC players running 64-bit operating systems will be able to download the Battlefield 4 client ahead of the beta opening on October 1st, for those with digital deluxe re-orders and keys from the dreadful Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The beta will go live to the general public on October 4th, so it’s only a minor wait.
DICE also took the time to reveal that the beta on PC will only run on 64-bit operating systems, since they really want to test performance on this version of the game. While Battlefield 4 will release to 32-bit operating systems, players still behind in this department will not be able to get an early taste. Then again, if you’re still running a 32-bit system, you should be seriously considering an upgrade for titles such as this. It is 2013 remember? What is 4GB of RAM nowadays anyway?
The multiplayer beta will end on October 15th, which is scarily close to the game’s October 29th release date. Despite this, DICE have said that they will have ample time to implement the changes required from feedback during the beta. So, massive day one patch then?
I’ll definitely be hopping online to give Battlefield 4 a go ahead of launch, primarily to see what hell it puts my PC through? Will you be joining me?
