The Battlefield 4 Open Beta Is Just Two Weeks Away
It was a relatively calm weekend by many accounts. At least, for those not eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto V tomorrow. Hell, this must have been the longest weekend of your life. But we’re not here to talk about that. We’re here to talk about an exciting announcement made by EA over the weekend, which is sure to replace the GTA V waiting game with something else.
Because on Saturday, EA announced that the open beta for Battlefield 4 would go live on October 1st, which is just over two weeks away.

The open beta will be made available to users on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Curiously, EA hasn’t yet gone into detail about the “Exclusive” beta that was promised to players who purchased the Premium content package for Battlefield 3, played Medal of Honor: Warfighter or pre-ordered the Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe version. The publisher has promised to detail these plans soon, but with just over a month to go until release it’s sounding like a rather empty promise.
Regardless, i’s extremely exciting to here that we only have two weeks to wait until getting our hands on some of the explosive multiplayer action that the Battlefield series is known for. In fact, I’m more excited to see the new Frostbite engine in action, and whether or not my PC will start sweating as I put it through its paces.
But if you’re not into the whole beta system or simply can’t sacrifice the bandwidth, then you’ll probably get the chance to sink some time into Battlefield 4 at rAge just a few days later. Or you could just wait until the release at the end of October, but we all know that will be a little bit hard.
