Arkham Origins To Have Permadeath
Misinformation s a wonderful thing. Can you imagine if a Batman game was hardcore enough to boast permadeath? Granted, the Dark Knight himself would approve. No, what’s actually going on here is that the game will have your standard easy, medium and hard difficulty settings in addition to New Game+ which offers an extra challenge. However, on top of that there’s another difficulty level called I Am The Night and seriously, if you can complete it then chances are you deserve to either be locked up in Arkham or given the keys to the Batmobile.
This mode will feature an even greater degree of difficulty and most importantly, permadeath. That means you have to be especially proficient in fights and far more tactical in the way you play the game. So basically you have to think like Batman. Speaking to Eurogamer, producer Guillaume Voghel said the new mode and adds even greater longevity to an already lengthy game.

“The main narrative arc and side missions last about 12 hours, and then you have all the collectibles. To get 100% of that will take much, much longer,” he said.
“We have a new difficulty level, New Game Plus is coming pack – that’s really difficult – and when you’re done with that there’s I Am The Night mode – which is no saves and one life.”
I’m no fan of playing games on max difficulty, I’m just not good enough for that but there are some instances where it just enhances the experience such as Hitman Absolution and this is definitely one of those times. In fact, it just makes sense to really capture the thrill, danger and overall experience that comes with being Batman.
