Gamescom 2013: Look At The New CryEngine
It’s just called CryEngine now, because Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli is too smug to count anymore. Here’s a trailer showing off what the new engine is capable of. We get to see some of the unique shader functions as well as behind the curtain functionality. There’s even some footage of the Xbox One title, Ryse, thrown in. That’s because Ryse is in fact running on this new CryEngine.
It looks properly impressive but don’t forget the other awesome next-gen engines such as Unreal Engine 4 and Square Enix’s Luminous engine which will likely be powering Final Fantasy games.
