Gamescom 2013: Call of Duty: Ghosts Has Dedicated Servers And Something Special On Xbox One
It’s long been made an obligation that the Call of Duty games will have exclusive content on Xbox, but at Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference today, something extra special was revealed about Ghosts.
Ready? Set? Here we go.
- You’ll Be Able To Play (Expensive) PS2 Games On Your PS4 Now | 2 months ago
- Jessica Jones Disempowers Its Male Characters And The Effect Is Refreshing | 2 months ago
- Hell Is 30 000 Deathclaws Tearing Through Boston And It’s Glorious | 2 months ago
- Sony Santa Monica Is Teasing Something Truly Strange | 2 months ago
Call of Duty: Ghosts will feature dedicated servers on the Xbox One, making use of the console’s new cloud platform. I guess there really is power in the cloud, hey? This announcement is also significant because it marks the franchise’s departure from player hosted multiplayer matches.
And as for that “something special” I mentioned in the header? Well, it’s actually a new game mode!
Infinity Ward showed off a new multiplayer mode called Blitz, which is an objective-based gametype similar to capture the flag, in which players fight to reach the opposing teams’ capture points. The set up is a bit different though, and it’s more action packed.
And last on the agenda is that Microsoft announced it will be offering a Call of Duty: Ghosts Xbox One bundle for Europe that will ship with exclusive content. Nothing regarding pricing was revealed.
