Enjoyed Tomb Raider? A Sequel Is Already In The Works
Tomb Raider is without a doubt one of the better reboots we’ve seen in recent times and still stands as one of the best titles released this year, despite the game failing to reach Square Enix’s massive sales targets. Thankfully, that hasn’t brought the reboot to halt, as Square Enix has announced that a sequel is “well into development”.
Square Enix’s Western CEO Phil Rogers confirmed work on the sequel in an open letter, saying that the franchise was extremely important to the publisher.

“I am also excited to reveal that we are well into development on a next-generation Tomb Raider sequel – something you may have heard about recently.”
So it’s definitely going to be a next-gen title, but for now we’re not sure what is in store for Lara next. Suggestions for the sequel? A more open-world with more open-ended objectives that allow for more freedom and experimentation in terms of combat. Basically, a bigger world to compliment the mechanics introduced in the reboot.
Nail that, and Square Enix will surely have an award winning title on their hands. Let us know what you’d like to see in this next-gen sequel? More hair effects maybe?
