Dark Souls 2 Is Different, But It’s Still Dark Souls
There’s this rather irrational fear that has spread amongst some of the fans of Dark Souls regarding the anticipated sequel releasing next year. Many are saying that developers FromSoftware are aiming at expanding their audience, with the core gameplay that makes Dark Souls so brutally engrossing paying the price. Well, someone says otherwise.
And for once it’s not someone that works for the developers. In fact, it’s a massive, and obsessive, fan of Dark Souls that has summed up some of the differences the sequel is bringing to the table. He just also happens to be in videogame media.

Matt Lees of Videogamer.com is a massive Dark Souls fan. So much so that he’s created the above video to assure fans that Dark Souls 2 is essentially still Dark Souls, based on some hands-on time he managed to have with the title. It’s a pretty lengthy look at some of the changes Dark Souls presents, but for fans of the franchise it’s a must-watch. Even if to just put some fears to rest.
Now all I need to do before the March 2014 release date is muster up the courage and actually attempt Dark Souls again. Don’t judge me, it’s difficult.
