According to Activision Publishing boss Eric Hirshberg, Bungie Studios’ upcoming next generation title, Destiny, has the potential to become the mega publisher’s third billion dollar franchise.
Hirshberg said that the persistent online shooter is looking set to join Call of Duty and Skylanders as yet another billion dollar IP for Activision.

“We strongly believe we are on pace to set the all-time pre-order record for a new IP,” said an enthused Hirshberg during an Activision Blizzard earnings call today.
“Based on what we’ve seen we believe that Destiny has the potential to become the third active billion dollar franchise in the Activision Publishing portfolio,” he added.
Destiny will be Bungie’s first game after parting ways with Halo and Microsoft.
The game is scheduled to release in ‘early 2014’ on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
