Watch Dogs Live Causes Real People To Fight Over Money
The gaming industry has a sordid history with PR stunts and the list includes scattering fake body parts around a plaza as part of the marketing campaign for some game who’s name fails to come to mind. This, thankfully, is the one of those crazy but fun to watch PR stunts.
Watch Dogs Live is a companion app for the game which is limited to Canadian users. In it players are assigned missions and the latest tasked them with hacking the bank account of the game’s antagonist. As part of it Ubisoft pulled a stunt where a real ATM in a Canadian mall started spewing cash. What followed is best described as pandemonium as real men and women scrambled to scoop up some dough.
