The Author Of Sandman Is Making A Game
Have you ever heard the name Neil Gaiman? In truth I’ve never read any of his comics or graphic novels but if you’re a comic book reader then you must surely have seen his name around the internet. Gaiman is touted as one of the best comic book writers around for such works as Neverwhere, American Gods, and the classic comic book series Sandman. Now, that talent is being put to use on a video game.
Gaiman is teaming up with indie developer, The Odd Gentlemen, to create Wayward Manor. It’s described as a macabre puzzle/adventure game and puts you in the spectral shoes of a ghost. Your sole (hehe) purpose is to scare people out of an old mansion. Watch the video above in which Gaiman himself pitches the concept of the game.

While Wayward Mansion isn’t officially a Kickstarter project, it is being funded in a Kickstarter type way. Funds are being collected by way of a tiered pre-order structure. The greater your contribution the greater your pre-order bonus so to speak. One such bonus is dinner with Neil Gaiman and all you have to do is contribute $10 000 to the project.
Gaiman himself is in fact a gamer so this is certainly a passion project.
Gaimen is renowned for his storytelling abilities and The ODD Gentlemen is certainly a good fit given their off-beat style with games such as The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom. This could prove to be another brilliant gem of a game from the indie scene so be sure to keep an eye on it.
