Saints Row IV Being Offered In A “Low Violence Version”
My first thoughts regarding the Saints Row games would not fall to excessive violence. In fact the series makes me think of over the top zany action and inappropriate crude humour. That’s a big part of the appeal though, like Family Guy it doesn’t hold anything back nor does it think before acting.
Sure the games are violent but certainly less so than God of War or the unexpectedly gory BioShock Infinite. However, Saints Row IV must be doing something right (or rather wrong) to have incurred the wrath of the Australians. The game has been banned down under and so it seems Steam has taken note by offering a “Low Violence Version” of the game.

The version will be available to Australian customers but there’s no detailing of what changes the low violence iteration shall bring. This had led men in foil hats to assume that the version was put on Steam in the hopes that publisher Deep Silver would produce a tweaked and toned down version. The publisher had yet to comment on this listing.
Honestly, this is ludicrous. It’s like Call of Duty with less guns or Game of Thrones with all the sex removed.
