Saints Row IV Almost Had Some Bollywood In It
This franchise is exemplified by the phrase “balls to the wall” and the fact that Saints Row IV involves aliens, a dubstep gun and mech suits is proof enough. There’s also our preview if you’re into shameless self-promotion. Now what if I told you the ending almost included a three minute Bollywood scene. Think that first fight in Scott Pilgrim but more offensive, better choreography and possibly a lot more weirdness.
“It was on our schedule, and we were trying to do it the right way,” Volition’s creative director Steve Jaros said during a panel at San Diego Comic Con, as reported by Polygon.

The developer had an entire scene planned out and was even researching choreography as well as the right song. Unfortunately the idea had to be relegated to the reject bin after the motion capture team worked out just how much this would cost.
“The stars didn’t line up,” Jaros added, but “the spirit of the Bollywood dance number happens and it is poetry in motion. It is so good.”
Crazy enough for you? Saints Row IV is due out on August 23 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
