Rockstar May Have Just Revived Agent
Remember a little PS3-exclusive title from Rockstar that seemingly fell off the map more than a year ago? No one really knows what happened to Rockstar’s Agent title, a 1970’s espionage themed sandbox adventure that looked like a rather interesting evolution of Grand Theft Auto. Jack Tretton announced the title all the way back in 2009; with the last glimpse of the title being all the way back in March 2011. Yesterday, Rockstar may have let slip that it’s still under development.
New trademarks filed by Rockstar describe the name of the game and its logo, which includes “the shape of a handgun comprising the internal section of the letter ‘G'”. This fits in with the only known logo for Agent, which was released when first announced. Does this mean the project is back on track?

Well, we can’t really be sure. It’s common practice for companies to renew trademarks that they plan to use one day, but that in no way means that Rockstar are focusing on the title currently. There’s really no indication that Agent could be in development at the moment, but I wouldn’t put it past Rockstar to maybe re-announce the title as a PS4 exclusive, or possibly a next-gen multiplatform title.
Considering we’ve hardly seen anything substantial yet, Agent could end up being something completely different to what was first announced. Although, it sounded pretty awesome to begin with, don’t you think?
