Racing Fans Are In For A Treat Next Year — Playground Games Is Currently Recruiting
It is a crying shame that most people don’t instantly recognise the name of Playground Games, the UK-based studio behind Forza Horizon. Not only was Horizon quite possibly the most underrated racer (if not game) of 2012, but it also flew ridiculously low under the radar for most fans of console exclusives and racers alike.
Now granted, not everyone is a fan of racing games so fair play to them for that. But let’s not discount the fact that Forza Horizon was something spectacular, even if most people were too busy fixating on the piece of shit that was Need For Speed: Most Wanted, to take it seriously.

With the Xbox One due out by the end of the year, Turn10 is busy at work on Forza Motorsport 5, but where does that leave Playground? Are they going to be churning out DLC for Horizon forever? Well, the short answer is no. In fact, they’re currently recruiting for a “visually stunning” and “genre-leading” racing game that they’re working on, expected out some time next year. Pretty rad, hey?
This news comes straight from the Careers page over on Playground’s website, which asks for the following positions:
A rendering engineer: “Working at senior level in a team of rendering engineers, you will be responsible for implementation of cutting edge rendering techniques. Engineers with in-depth knowledge of current-gen consoles are ideal for this role, as you will innovate on this technology to produce a visually stunning title.”
A senior game designer: “This is an opportunity to join a highly experienced team at an early stage of development and help define the vision for a genre-leading game.”
So there you go. Most likely, whatever this new game is, it’s going to release for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Here’s hoping it’s got just as much, if not more, quality than Forza Horizon. And that it’s marketed a lot better, so that people don’t go blowing their loads over another turd-piece, yet again…
