New Daylight PS4 Gameplay Footage Surfaces – There’s A Bit More Survival Horror In Next-Gen
This is making me really excited. I’m a huge fan of the horror genre, when it’s done right, because they offer gaming experiences you really won’t find in any other area of games. Tango Gameworks’ upcoming The Evil Within was the first official next-gen survival horror game to be revealed, headed by the father of the genre and creator of Resident Evil, Shinji Mikami.
Then at Sony’s E3 showing, it was revealed that the awesome and highly anticipated indie horror game, Outlast, would be releasing as a launch title for the PlayStation 4.

Now, gameplay footage has surfaced for Daylight, a survival horror title currently in development by Zombie Studios for PC and PS4, and set for release in the first quarter of next year. It will be published by Atlus and will use the Unreal Engine 4. There’s no mention of an Xbox One version.
What we know about the game is that it’s a procedurally generated horror game, which means that no playthrough will be the same. There are no weapons, and all the player has is a cell phone for light.

Keep the survival horror games coming, please. While I love the current generation of consoles, survival horror effectively died out, which left me a sad panda. Hopefully the next generation brings it back, and I’m crossing my fingers that The Evil Within revives the genre in mainstream gaming.
