Don Mattrick Is Going To Earn Quite A Lot Of Money At Zynga
Earlier this week we reported that Microsoft’s Don Mattrick left for Zynga–a move that surprised many. For Mattrick to join Zynga seemed to be a no-brainer, in terms of perks and benefits.
Reuters has reported that Zynga has offered Mattrick a compensation package that will make up for the shares lost from resigning from Microsoft. The former head of Xbox will receive nine million Zynga stock units, vested over three years. This amounts to a value of about $30.5 million.

Zynga’s share price increased by 11% when it was announced that Mattric would join. Because of this, and the deal he has struck with Zynga, his first year will allow him to earn $19.3 million.
Following that, Zynga will also give Mattrick another 1,785,714 units of stock worth $5 million, with the option to buy another 7,357,143 shares valued at $10.
Mattrick’s second term as CEO will allow him to earn $14.3 million, where his third will make him $8.4 million.
Overall, Mattrick is expected to make quite a bit of money as the new CEO of Zynga. Maybe it was a good move after all? Industry experts believe that he can do the company quite a lot of good.
