We said that Sony won E3, and that seems to be showing in the strong pre-order numbers and interest in the console.
In a recent conversation with the Wall Street Journal, this kind of strong response was unexpected, and Sony has had to increase its sales forecast as a result, which is a very positive thing for the company.

“Sony Corp is raising internal sales projections for the forthcoming PlayStation 4 videogame console amid positive signs about demand for the device,” according to the Wall Street Journal.
Furthermore, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House admitted that unfortunately for those who haven’t pre-ordered yet, “demand may well outstrip supply.”
GameStop was another to echo this “sentiment” to the Wall Street Journal.
