E3 2013: Mirror’s Edge 2 Will Be Open-World
We all squealed with glee at the announcement of Mirror’s Edge 2 and in the same way that Portal 2 took the general concept of the first game and blew it up into something amazing, the Mirror’s Edge sequel looks to be following suit.
The game will be an open-world action-adventure rather than the linear parkour platformer that the first game was. EA Labels boss Frank Gibeau described the new game as a cult classic and said it enjoyed a “great fan reaction.”

Can something be a classic before it even releases? That seems a little backwards or forwards or too forward. “We’re bringing Faith back in this open-world [emphasis added] action adventure game,” Gibeau said.
Emphasis on the open-world aspect excites me because of the prospect of running around on rooftops and going wherever you want, picking your path.
Miror’s Edge 2 is set to release on PS4, Xbox One and PC “when it’s ready.” It’s also not even officially called Mirror’s Edge 2, just Mirror’s Edge.
