GameStop stores around the US are taking an active role in telling customers about the Xbox One’s many caveats. They’re putting out flyers informing customers about the restrictions of the console like needing to be connected to the internet every 24 hours and others.
A number of reports around the internt confirm this news, but it’s apparent that these flyers are a store by store thing, and it could just be some stores taking matters into their own hands, possibly to avoid any liability for consumers who aren’t aware of these restrictions.
A picture of this flyer hasn’t emerged yet, so don’t take it as solid fact, especially since it’s being rumoured to be happening at select GameStop stores throughout the country.
Considering GameStop was quick to jump in bed with Microsoft and tell us that everything is going to be alright, I think this is simply them trying to avoid liability, or it’s a few stores that genuinely believe consumers need to know and perhaps even dislike the Xbox One’s policies. Either way, it’s always good if consumers are being informed, so kudos to them.
