EA Wants Mirror’s Edge To Reach “A Bigger Group Of People”
Mirror’s Edge 2, or the Mirror’s Edge Reboot, was certainly one of the stars of this year’s E3 conference, despite the only glimpse of it being close to two minutes ling. It was an announcement that thousands of fans had been hoping for, and it surely didn’t disappoint. Later in that week, EA announced that this sequel would act as more of a reboot than a continuation of the first title, with the publisher aiming to change a few things that didn’t quite gel the first time round. And that seems like that’s not the only thing they want to change.
EA Labels president Frank Gibeau has stated in an interview that the publisher wants this reboot to reach a great audience, which isn’t exactly what die-hard fans love to hear.

“Our goal in any product is to try and grow the audience. We’re definitely taking into account the opportunity to reach a bigger group of people. We think we’ve got the right story and accessibility that can do that.”
Right now, the only known changes EA has revealed is the shift towards an open-world environment for Faith to play around in. Since EA is aiming to reach a greater audience this time around, it’s not unlikely that we will be hearing about some more changes in the near future, but hopefully none of them will be drastic enough to meddle with the formula established in the original.
Don’t ruin this for us EA, please.
