E3 2013: Tom Clancy’s New Title Is A Console Exclusive MMO
In similar fashion to last year’s E3, Ubisoft didn’t have the best conference, but certainly left their trump card for last. While not exactly reaching the same heights that Watch Dogs did last year, Tom Clancy’s The Division made a rather remarkable impact on an otherwise lacklustre conference, blending third-person shooter action with a persistent world and MMO mechanics.
Developed by Massive Entertainment and headed to Xbox One and Ps4, The Division focuses on a 2001 operation called Darkwinter, which apparently has revealed just how fragile society is. Playing on the premise of how diseases can quickly become pandemics through the exchange of money on busy shopping holidays, The Division takes place in a world where this has become a reality. The stock market has collapsed, the government has locked cities down and now it’s up to you and your friends to survive.

A demo for the game showed off an array of interesting items and skills you’ll be able to acquire through levelling up, as well as some brief moments of cover=based shooting action. One thing that did catch everyone’s eye was just how darn beautiful it all looked, setting a pretty high standard for next-gen MMO’s everywhere.
The Division certainly has our interest, and I for one can’t wait to see some more in action
