E3 2013: Get To Know The Crew
One of Ubisoft’s big E3 announcements was the next-gen racing title The Crew. Basically Burnout meets old school Need for Speed in an MMO format across the entire USA. The game comes from Ubisoft Reflections (Driver: San Francisco) and Ivory Tower.
First we were treated to a rather spectacular cinematic trailer and then to some multiplayer gameplay which showed off the asynchronous components of the game’s multiplayer, singleplayer and linking up with friends to form a powerful crew capable of taking down rival crews.

The game will be open world, sprawling across the entire USA with a variety of environments, terrains and vehicles to choose from. Something we haven’t seen in a racer proper in awhile is full customisation from rims to engine parts and even beefing your ride up to handle serious off-roading or vehicular combat. The game is said to blend multiplayer and singleplayer seamlessly.
You are not just limited to the roads either, You can roam the wilderness and if you get Las Vegas in your sights you can easily speed across the desert to get there. The scope of the game is certainly ambitious.
The game is set to release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC next year. Above is the trailer, below is the gameplay.
