E3 2013: Create A New World With Project Spark
Imagine The Sims crossed with Black & White and LittleBigPlant 2’s game-making feature. That’s sort of Project Spark in a nutshell. At its core this is a fantasy-themed adventure game with magic and goblins and probably wizards too. Maybe even Gandalf. The really cool twist is that everything in the world is created by you.
From the environments to the enemies and characters all with the help of SmartGlass and Kinect. In the demo you’ll see a new world being created, a village to protect, enemies to defend against and a pet rock. We shall name him The Thing. As the game’s developer noted on-stage, there’s “an infinite number of ways to play, build and share.”

Players can customise on a macro level or as the developer put it “line by line.” Player interaction will also be a big factor with other players jumping into the world you created and running around in it. Other players can dynamically change this world and essentially this game is all about constant change and interaction. We were certainly impressed.
Project Spark is set to release on Windows 8 and Xbox One with a date yet to be set.
