The amounts of YouTube videos out there are staggering.
I’m sure that’s like saying that grass is green and books are filled with words. (Although, come to think of it, certain books / magazines are filled with very little words and very little is worn. WHOW! Who turned up the temperature?)

I’m sure that pretty much everyone with an internet connection has read about PSY, or watched his crazy-ass videos. Look at the views of Gangnam Style and his latest; Gentleman and you can safely assume that it sparked more than a few people’s curiosities. With that in mind, do you think that gaming can reach such crazy statistics?
You have a lot of games that sky-rocket in regards to their sales, see Call of Duty every year, but is it possible for a game to have that quick-fire tempo to popularity?
Personally, I can only think about Call of Duty sales and perhaps the amount of talk regarding the BioShock series as well as the news of a new generation of consoles. (I must admit that the BioShock one may be my own obsessive nature.)
So many things on the internet explode, and with time they die down to a more natural pace in regards to popularity. I mean even a foreign talking gentleman and his Ibex can go viral for a fixed amount of time.
Readers, help me think of more examples like this in the gaming industry and we’ll see who is the most observant.
