Is The PS4 Launching In Europe In 2013?
As we know, while both consoles are said to be releasing in 2013, only Microsoft’s Xbox One has confirmed a worldwide release at the end of this year. The PlayStation 4 hasn’t been specific about whether or not it will have a worldwide release, which has caused some fans to worry.
This is because we know from the PlayStation 3 that many regions had different release dates for Sony’s box, with places like Europe and in turn South Africa only getting the machine in March 2007, a good few months after the console’s November 2006 launch date.

But an interesting source might have just slipped that the PlayStation 4 will release in Europe in 2013.
And that source is none other than advertising seen on the night of the Champions League Final between German football clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. The above image shows it.
This is excellent news, because it almost certainly means that the console will release in Europe at the end of this year, which means it will be out in South Africa as well this year. And you know how it goes, if it’s out in South Africa of all places, then it has to be out in other areas. So a worldwide release is looking more likely. I think this is an absolute must for Sony if they don’t want to repeat PS3 mistakes.
As an extra note, to further back this up, in-store advertising for the PlayStation 4 has begun in Europe, as shown in the image down below. I guess it’s all but confirmed then.
