What Did It Cost To Create Beyond: Two Souls?
It’s no secret that when it comes to high-quality immersive experiences, Quantic Dream spares no expense and Sony is quite happy to throw money at them. The studio pulled out all the stops to make Heavy Rain look and feel great but despite Beyond: Two Souls’ high production values and Hollywood A-list cast members, company boss David cage refers to the budget as rather mdoest. Stating that it only ran the studio “a little bit more” than Heavy Rain.
“I don’t know if the budget is public but it’s been a very, very reasonable price,” Cage told CVG.

“We do very complex games, but I don’t think they’re very expensive compared to others out there.”
Despite all the things that really should’ve made this an astronomically expensive game, including a rebuilt engine, Cage said costs were kept down thanks to sensible business practices. Square Enix could learn a thing or two from this.
“The project is cheaper because we’ve got better at what we do. We’re very tools-centric and we pay close attention to our costs. We don’t do anything crazy with the finances, we pay correctly but we don’t have sports cars, boats or the rest of it. We run the company very seriously,” he said.
Beyond is due out in October and boast a cast containing Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe.
