Is Sony Busy On A New Exclusive, Destiny Of Spirits?
I don’t know if it’s just me, but that name is cringe worthy. I can’t put my finger on it, but something about the title Destiny of Spirits just makes my skin crawl. Is it cliché? What ever it is, Sony now owns the rights to that name, suggesting that a new exclusive could be in the works.
The patent for the title was filed on the 26th of March, with a description reading “Computer game software; Electronic game software for handheld electronic devices; Video game software”. The patent was filed through two lawyers that are well associated with Sony, so this is definitely a legitimate filling. Question is, what is it for?

Sony has already said they plan to release a large amount of titles for their struggling handheld, the PlayStation Vita, so one could easily assume that it’s a new IP for the platform. Alternatively, it could be the name of a planned PS4 title, as I doubt Sony would be investing in brand new IP’s for the PS3 at this stage. But then again, who really knows.
Hopefully Sony will shed some light on the patent sometime soon. Still though, Destiny of Spirits? Maybe five more minutes on the name wouldn’t have hurt.
