Heroes May See A Revival Thanks To Microsoft
Heroes was a great TV series up until the point where there were too many characters to keep track of and everybody was doing their own thing and the plot stopped making sense. Basically if you took Lost and rearranged the episodes in random order, you’d end up with a better version of Heroes. That said, it was about people with powers and had some pretty cool characters, Sylar in particular. It also made the phrase “save the cheerleader, save the world” infamous although I still don’t quite remember how that really made sense or worked out in the end.
Anyway, the series may see a reboot if rumours from TVLine are true regarding talks that MSN recently held with NBC over buying the rights to the show in order to develop a new version of it for Xbox Originals. It would feature all-new stories, new characters and hopefully some coherent writing. The rumoured series would also feature cameos from former Heroes stars just to tie it all into one big homogeneous continuity.

Why do we care about this? For starters it would be cool to see Heroes again, provided it’s good. Secondly, if true, then this would confirm Microsoft’s intentions of making the Xbox and consequently its successor into a do-it-all entertainment hub and a replacement for your cable box or DSTV decoder for us.
