Fergusson Departs from Irrational Games
Shortly after the successful launch of BioShock Infinite, one of the most anticipated titles this generation, former Epic Games employee and Gears of War producer Rod Fergusson has announced that he will resign from his executive vice president of development position at Irrational Games.
Fergusson joined Irrational Games in August last year after a long period at Epic Games. He served specifically on BioShock Infinite while at Irrational, but with the title complete and shipped Fergusson has expressed his desire to move on and find a new home elsewhere, although he’s not exactly sure where to start looking at the moment.

Fergusson spoke about his time at Irrational and the future in an email.
“I am very proud of the work that I did and of the team and what they were able to accomplish on Infinite. Now with the game shipped successfully, I’ve done what I set out to do here and now I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life and career.”
It will be interesting to see where Fergusson ends up in the next few months. He is one of the heavyweights in the games industry today, so we’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on what project he ends up working on next.
