Nintendo Is Getting Desperate With Wii U Marketing
Granted Nintendo isn’t as desperate as Samsung who felt the need to market a washing machine or fridge or some other such appliance recently with the aid of swimsuit-clad models. Yes, they actually did that. Nintendo’s efforts with the Wii U are decidedly less glitzy and probably a little sad. Nobody seems to care much for the Wii U and a lot of the casual gaming market, which the console is aimed at, don’t seem to know much about it. So why the Wii U?
That is effectively the premise of Nintendo’s latest marketing ploy, why the Wii U? Below is an example of the sort of ads Nintendo is putting up. It’s a rather tedious look at all the things Wii U can do which the old Wii simply can’t. The list includes plays Wii U games, uses the Wii U Gamepad, uses Wii U Accessories; it’s all very very sad if you ask me.

As noted by Kotaku though, there’s no mention of either console’s ability to play, or not play, GameCube titles. Curious.
