Here’s What’s Not In Assassin’s Creed IV’s Multiplayer

Since its inclusion in AC: Brotherhood, multiplayer has been a staple part of Assassin’s Creed titles and while it’s nothing to keep you entertained and competitive for months,it is extremely good fun and something a little different from your typical multiplayer experience. It’s thus no surprise that AC IV will sport a multiplayer component but with all this focus on pirates and the high seas, don’t be expecting a naval combat multiplayer mode.
Speaking to CVG, lead content manager Carsten Myhill said that despite a big focus on multiplayer, the game won’t feature any assassin themed version of Battleships.

“We’re going to be communicating big on multiplayer in the coming weeks,” he said. “However, what I can say is that unfortunately we won’t be doing naval multiplayer for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.”
Apparently this lack of naval multiplayer is down to Ubisoft’s aim of realising a fully open-world experience.
“The reason for that is that we really wanted to take it to the next level for an open-world pirate experience, and all our effort has gone into that. Of course, it would be great, but sadly not.”
Is naval multipayer something you would’ve liked to see? i would certainly relish the novelty of such a feature.
