Company of Heroes 2 Officially Delayed
Shouldn’t exactly be a surprising title, considering SEGA acquired the publishing rights for Company of Heroes during THQ’s meltdown, and we have yet to hear from them about this highly anticipated sequel. Considering Company of Heroes 2 was originally scheduled to release next week, on the same day as StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, maybe a delay is actually not a bad idea. And that’s exactly what SEAG did, announcing a new release date for the World War II strategy title.
Company of Heroes 2 will now release on June 25th for PC. The press release cited additional polish as the main reason for the delay, but the deal with SEGA surely slowed development down quite drastically.

“Relic Entertainment is using the additional time to help Company of Heroes 2 meet the high standard set by its predecessor, the highest rated strategy game of all time.” Executive Producer Jonathan Dowdeswell also added “We hate to disappoint our fans with a later than expected date as we know they are eager to play but we feel the additional time will help the team deliver the high quality sequel they deserve.”
If that news brought you down, you’ll be happy to know that SEGA and Relic Entertainment are planning a closed multiplayer beta for Company of Heroes 2, with details apparently coming “soon”.
