…you’re still here? Was that video not enough to crack through your heart of stone? Too cheap to give money to charity and get some games in the process? Fine, l will make it my mission to make you see through your haze of cheapness.
The Humble Bundle 3 is one of the best bargains I’ve seen to date and here’s why my copper counting friends:
- You’ll Be Able To Play (Expensive) PS2 Games On Your PS4 Now | 2 months ago
- Jessica Jones Disempowers Its Male Characters And The Effect Is Refreshing | 2 months ago
- Hell Is 30 000 Deathclaws Tearing Through Boston And It’s Glorious | 2 months ago
- Sony Santa Monica Is Teasing Something Truly Strange | 2 months ago
- You get 5 great games at whatever price you choose.
- Now with every purchase you will receive “Steel Storm”, another indie game absolutely free.
- Also, if you purchase now you will be able to jam Minecraft for free until the 14th of August; that is if you’re into that dirt moving kind of thing.
Also, using the custom slider on the web page you may decide where your money will go to. For example, you may decide to not give the hard working developers the money for their games and instead give it to those charities.
Still here? I see you don’t hold logic as a necessary characteristic…I will just explain how awesome each title is then. Maybe then you will go to your secret cave to fetch some money to purchase this magically enhanced bundle.
And Yet it Moves
This is a platform/puzzle game where the world quite literally, for the first time ever, revolves around you! Yes, you can shift the world at 90 degree angles to the left or right at the press of a key. This is a great mechanic to exploit, allowing you to make falling boulders fall harmlessly in front of you instead of on top of you. If you ever thought you were the centre of the universe, you have found your first reason to get the Humble Bundle 3.
Cogs is a through and through puzzle game, requiring you to move blocks to complete steam pipes or connect cogs in a way to make mechanizations such as a tank or rocket to start working! This game gets rather challenging and has a rather judgemental timer sitting just to the left of your vision; it chimes every time you fail to meet the gold standard, silver standard… well you can see where I’m going. If you like puzzles and beating judgemental timers, this is the second good reason to get the bundle.
Crayon Physics (Deluxe)
By far and away, one of the most entertaining titles in the bundle. In this game you use crayons to create objects that will physically interact with the world so that you may solve the puzzle. The puzzle in each stage revolves around you moving a red ball towards a star. Making use of non-toxic crayons you must quite literally draw the solution, be it a giant golf club to put the ball or even an old school catapult. You thought that colouring was just for kids, well colouring is serious business.
This title is only played with the mouse; using circular hand motions you control a steam power helicopter that has old school weaponry attached. Of course when the weaponry is a chain with a rock at the end, you can imagine that the laws of physics are going to throw your little copter around that sky like a ragdoll. This game is loads of fun, requiring you to beat opponents using various weapons all having their unique effect on how your helicopter moves.
Last but not least, the quite oddly titled: VVVVVV (by far my favourite title in the bundle). This game is a platform/puzzle game that will literally flip your thinking upside down. You have the ability to reverse gravity at anytime so that your character may walk on the ceiling. The game comes with a number of challenging puzzles and brilliant 8-bit music. With this release in the Humble Bundle the game now comes with a map editor, so you can create maps that will make your friends whimper out of frustration.
These 5 titles alone are more than enough reason to try out the bundle and do something for a children’s charity or give the developers some extra cash for their next indie title. I’m now done with trying to give you greedy people good sound advice on a great indie bargain. I am going to play “Steel Storm”, as I only realised while writing this article that it is included for free with my purchase of the Humble Bundle.
